
Carmen Parter
Carmen is a proud Murri woman from Murrana, Juru & Darumbal clans of the Birra Gubba Nation of Queensland with South Sea Island heritage. She is Girudala’s Chief Executive Officer, who has been a volunteer, clinician, educator, policy maker, manager of project teams, a senior executive leader, theorist and scholar. She is also a Board member on the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency, and is a part-time researcher and cultural leader at Djurali Centre at the Heart Research Institute in Newtown (Sydney). She is a proud granny, and Aunty to many, and lives on Country with her partner.

Vivian Mook
Vivian is a proud Dutch and Torres Strait Islander woman from Saibai Island crocodile clan. She brings over 15 years of managerial experience to her role as Girudala’s Operations Manager, where she leads organisational systems, supports teams, and ensures culturally strong, community‑focused service delivery. Vivian previously worked with Girudala for 7 years before spending 9 years in Cairns building her professional capability. She has since returned home to Bowen, continuing her commitment to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander communities. Vivian is also a devoted mother to her 22‑year‑old daughter and is proud to contribute to Girudala’s ongoing growth and impact.

Christene Roney
Christene is one of the longest standing staff members of Girudala and oversees the aged care team that consists of seven aged care support team members and an admin assistant.

Leanne Prise
Leanne was born in Mt Isa, grew up in Townsville, and has lived in Bowen for 38 years. She is a proud mother of four sons of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal descent, with family connections to Yam Island and Badu Island. Leanne has worked with Girudala for 26 years across roles spanning Aged Care, Training and Employment, Education Support, Sexual Health Promotion, Community Health, and clinical health worker positions.
Leanne is the Health Team Leader for Girudala’s Chronic Care Services, a Health Worker–led clinic supporting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander peoples across Bowen, Collinsville and Proserpine. Leanne is committed to early intervention, education, and community wellbeing, and feels privileged to serve her community alongside a dedicated team that consists of four Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander health workers, two doctors, registered nurse and admin support.

Lela Idagi
Lela leads the family wellbeing team which consists of two support workers, an intake officer and a domestic and family violence specialist.

Helen is the backbone of the organisation, ensuring the financial foundations are accurate, organised, and reliable.

Our medical receptionist is the friendly face you see or hear from you when visit our clinic or call us to book your medical appointments.
Our aged care admin is the friendly face you see or hear from when you enquire about our aged specific programs and services.
