Girudala's Commonwealth Home Support Program believes in

• the right of people to make choices and maintain their independence in their own lives
• the right of people to dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality
• the right of people to be valued as individuals
• the right of people to access services on a non-discriminatory basis

The services we provide include

• domestic assistance - basic duties like vaccuming, mopping, toilet and bathroom cleaning etc
• social support (individual and group) - visiting clients in their homes for a cuppa and a yarn, helping with filling in forms, bringing clients together for activities twice a week including arts and crafts, picnics and pamper days
• home maintenance - basic mowing and whippersnipping 
• transport - driving clients to appointments, to pay bills and do grocery shopping

To be eligible for this program you will be a Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who is frail, or an older person (over the age of 50) who needs support to remain living independently at home.

To apply for service - you first need to contact the My Aged Care team on 1800 200 422 or visit www.myagedcare.gov.au who will put you in touch with the Regional Assessment Team to work out what services you require. Once that is done, you can nominate Girudala to be your service provider if you wish.
